Practical training program

学びの核学びの核

Practical trainings are required credits to obtain license and/or certificate divided into 3 practical trainings in nursery school, kindergarten, and welfare facilities.

Practical training could be full of anxiety and tension, but we conduct “On-Campus Practical Training” so that students can practice after making sufficient preparations in advance.
Faculty members from each field provide guidance and will work closely with each student. In addition, teachers will visit training schools/facilities to provide guidance to every student during the training.

On-Campus Practical Training

We schedule a performance day by linking actual childcare practices and experiences with the content of lectures learned at school.
Students will also prepare by practicing how to handle infants and change their diapers, etc.

Hoiku Practical Training 1 (Nursery School)

A two-week practical training at designated Nursery School. Despite their anxiety and nervousness, their desire to become a nursery teacher grows stronger as they interact with the children.

Educational Practical Training (kindergarten)

The purpose of this training is to foster the awareness and attitude of teachers as professionals through hands-on experience. Through the advice of teachers from training sites and interacting with children, they deepen their understanding of child education. In the final stage, students will formulate their own activity plan and prosecute their plan with the children in the class. Students will carry out their practical training at a kindergarten of their choice for three weeks. Practical training at an English friendly Felicia Kindergarten, affiliated by Felicia College of Childhood Education, is possible as well.

Hoiku practical training 2 (Welfare facilities)

In order to acquire a nursery teacher qualification, it is necessary to participate in practical training at a child welfare facility or a support facility for people with disabilities in addition to practical training at a nursery school. Students will have overnight training at infant homes, children’s homes, and facilities where children and persons with intellectual disabilities live for about two weeks. It will be a very valuable experience to learn about the social mission of the facility and how to respond to the children and users who live there while spending the night together.
